Dimitrios-Sokratis Komaris was born in Thessaloniki, Greece in 1987. He received the M.Eng degree in mechanical engineering at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece in 2013 and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in biomedical engineering from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Scotland in 2014 and 2018, respectively.

From 2018, he works as a postdoctoral researcher in University College Cork, Tyndall Institute of Technology, Cork, Ireland. His research interests include clinical gait analysis, biomechanical assessment, injury prevention and wearables for sports performance.
