Dr Cian Ó Murchú holds an M.Sc. Analytical Chemistry from University College Cork and a Ph.D from the Tyndall National Institute. Since FP5, he has been involved in many successful proposals for EU projects from the early stages of concept development and consortium building to project execution and closure. Overall, Cian has won over €7M of competitive funding for Tyndall. More recently, he has been in the coordinating team of the H2020 project TIPS which looked at thermal management for photonics devices and is scientific coordinator of the H2020 project INSPEX. Besides engaging with academic and industry collaborators and other research and technology organisations, Cian also participates in EC networking and consultation groups to create technology roadmaps as for example the NEREID Roadmap for Nanoelectronics and the ECSEL Strategic Research Agenda and is a board member of EPoSS.
